Conversation heard in the elevator this morning.
Woman 1: I didn't think she had a drinking problem.
Woman 2: Well there's some things you just don't see in an interview.

|Right hook! Left hook! Uppercut! Uppercut!
Watching the Democartic debate on CNN. Clinton vs. Obama! Scheduled for 15 rounds!
Obama is giving Clinton what amounts to a verbal taint-punching.
Every time Clinton gets asked a question, she goes off on a tangent about her campaign without actually answering it while Obama answers the question first and THEN goes off on a tangent.
Still, IMHO, he clearly Pwned this debate.

|Gotta Love The Boondocks...
In this time of war against Osama bin Laden and the oppressive Taliban regime, we are thankful that OUR leader isn't the spoiled son of a powerful politician from a wealthy oil family who is supported by religious fundamentalists, operates through clandestine organizations, has no respect for the democratic electoral process, bombs innocents, and uses war to deny people their civil liberties. Amen. Current Mood: amused

So on my way in to work this morning, I was watching a martial arts film called "Shadowless Sword" on my laptop. In a certain scene, there is a bandit leader who basically stole his entire performance, makeup and all, from Captain Jack Sparrow.
For some reason, even though there was no physical resemblance, he reminded me of yagathai
. Go figure.

One of the things I like about being the guy who does the meeting hardware setups (especially noontime meetings) at my job is that about a third of the time when I'm finished setting up and about to leave, the host of the meeting turns to me and says, "Why don't you grab some food before you go".
Sometimes there is such a thing as a free lunch... Current Mood: cheerful

Remember, remember the Fifth of November,
The Gunpowder Treason and Plot,
I know of no reason
Why Gunpowder Treason
Should ever be forgot.
Guy Fawkes, Guy Fawkes, t'was his intent
To blow up King and Parli'ment.
Three-score barrels of powder below
To prove old England's overthrow;
By God's providence he was catch'd
With a dark lantern and burning match.
Holloa boys, holloa boys, let the bells ring.
Holloa boys, holloa boys, God save the King!

|Meme answers to dje2004
If you'd like to play, let me know and I'll pick seven interests from your profile for you to explain either in a comment or in your journal.Badtz Maru
Badtz Maru is a penguin character from the Sanrio corporation, most noted for their character, Hello Kitty. He’s got a bit of attitude and I’ve seen the character used on T-Shirts with fun slogans like, “Remember, when someone annoys you, it takes 42 muscles in your face to frown, BUT, it only takes 4 muscles to extend your arm and bitch-slap that mother@#?!&! Upside the head.”Chaos
Working at a help desk, I am familiar with the state of chaos but I seem to prefer the unpredictability of the situations to static work. Also, if you’ve ever seen my game room or witnessed my mad cleaning skillz, you’d understand.Delta Green
Delta Green is a game setting for Call of Cthulhu, the popular horror roleplaying game published by Chaosium, Inc. Originally set in the 20’s and 30’s, Delta Green brings the Cthulhu Mythos, and the men and women who encounter it, squarely into the modern day. Delta Green’s premise is that there is a secret group dedicated to investigating alien and supernatural horrors, using the resources of the U.S. government to do so. It’s very X-Files meetings Cthulhu so it’s generally a lose-lose scenario for poor Mulder.Discordians
Being a fan of cults and conspiracies, my interest in Discordians is connected to my interest in Chaos. As a gamer, I’ve always found things like this fascinating, though my interest in this started primarily out of the Illuminati game from Steve Jackson Games.Enlightenment
The idea that each step we take and each action can possibly lead us to a higher state of being on earth or to our own ascension to a higher plane (Nirvana, Heaven, who knows) is always attractive. I just strive to be a decent person and to understand myself and my place in the world.Free Thinking
I’ve never been one to accept everything being told to me without questioning it. While I can respect those who can take certain beliefs on faith alone, I’m not one of them. And while a lot of free thinkers are atheists, I am not.Rosicrucians
Another interest garnered from gaming. The Brethren of the Rose Cross fall into that same illuminated area that the Templars do. Originally encountered by me through certain RPG’s, Nephilim and Illuminati in particular, I picked up a few books on the subject and enjoyed them. I also like calling them “The Rosy Crustaceans”, but that’s probably just me. Current Mood: bored

|My morning so far...
Woke up at 8:00am with a headache, took some tylenol and back to bed.
Up at 9:00am with headache mostly gone.
Went to the gym for about an hour and 15 minutes. Good workout.
Breakfast was a 2 egg white omlette with spinach, feta, tomato and mushroom. Drank a cup of Assam tea and had a banana.
Now off to Home Depot and Ikea to return some stuff and then need to pick up some grocery items.

So I'm up in New York today working out of our Downtown office. The regional tech is on vaca and I'm filling in today and tomorrow.
Woke up hella early to catch a train here and go in about 9am.
Had some very good Cuban food for lunch and I'm feelin' might full. Probably won't even eat dinner the portions were so large.
Going to walk to the hotel in a while and then maybe hit Neutral Ground this evening to see what they've got going on.
